Gastrolab is Australia’s largest provider of diagnostic hydrogen/methane breath testing, with clinics in VIC, NSW, ACT, WA, QLD and SA.

Some of our clinics are located in the collection centres of Dorevitch Pathology or St Vincent’s Pathology.
Home breath test kits are available for patients who are unable to attend one of our clinics.

Dr Froomes is a senior gastroenterologist at The Northern Hospital, a visiting hepatologist at The Austin Hospital, and consultant to the Melbourne Institute of Obesity Surgery.

Dr Froomes has an interest in endoscopy, functional gut disorders, chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and obesity. He has published papers in international peer reviewed medical journals and is actively involved in capsule endoscopy research.

Dr Testro is a staff specialist gastroenterologist at the Austin Hospital.

Dr Testro regularly attends international gastroenterology conferences to stay up to date with the latest medical information, and he personally reports all the breath tests performed by Gastrolab.

Jorge is a senior medical scientist and laboratory manager in the Department of Gastroenterology, Southern Health, based at the Monash Medical Centre. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Honours) and he combines roles as General Manager at Gastrolab, with research into mechanisms of liver fibrosis at Monash. His research has resulted in publications in international peer reviewed medical journals, and contributed to successful grant funding by the NHMRC. Jorge considers the cornerstones of proper management as being hard work, effective communication, respect, integrity and a quality driven outlook. He is currently studying an MBA at Monash University.

Danielle is a registered nurse with 6 years of nursing and pathology experience. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings ranging from general practice to acute care at various Melbourne hospitals (Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent’s Private, Western Hospital, Sunshine Hospital, The Northern Hospital). Danielle furthered her interest in gastroenterology by being trained in performing manometry, capsule endoscopy, and hydrogen/methane breath testing. Danielle’s training has provided her with sound interpersonal skills and a process-driven mentality to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and consistent results.
