Jorge is a senior medical scientist and laboratory manager in the Department of Gastroenterology, Southern Health, based at the Monash Medical Centre. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Honours) and he combines roles as General Manager at Gastrolab, with research into mechanisms of liver fibrosis at Monash. His research has resulted in publications in international peer reviewed medical journals, and contributed to successful grant funding by the NHMRC. Jorge considers the cornerstones of proper management as being hard work, effective communication, respect, integrity and a quality driven outlook. He is currently studying an MBA at Monash University.
