Synopsis:
In this seminar you will gain important insights into Irritable Bowel Syndrome:
1) its prevalence and why current management approaches are unsatisfactory;
2) the role of lactose, fructose and FODMAP malabsorption in causing IBS symptoms;
3) Hydrogen/Methane breath testing as the gold standard to diagnose malabsorption;
4) the value of the evidence-based FODMAPs dietary approach.
FODMAPs is an acronym that stands for the following:
Fermentable Oligo-saccharides Di-saccharides Mono-saccharides, And Polyols.
